Altar Guild
About twenty active, dedicated men and women make up our Altar Guild, which meets quarterly. The main purpose of the Altar Guild is preparing for Sunday services, under the direction of the clergy, and ensuring that appropriate furnishings and vestments are provided. The Altar Guild polishes the silver and brass, readies the candles on the Altar and all other candles in the church, launders and presses linens, repairs vestments, and sets out the bread and wine for Communion. The Altar Guild also decorates the church for Palm Sunday, Thanksgiving, Easter and Christmas.
Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
Each year on Shrove Tuesday, the Altar Guild organizes the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper. Proceeds are used to buy candles, wine, and used to repair vestments and replace items.
