Health Ministries
The body, the mind and the spirit are all a part of the human experience. Health Ministries promotes health through education, wellness-promotion programs, and volunteers for mission work. We offer programs such as CPR, and cancer education (prevention and detection). Volunteers have done mission work in New Orleans and Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina, as well as in Kenya. In addition, Stephen Ministry is a program to nurture people in time of need, when they may be lonely, homebound, hospitalized, or in need of healing of the spirit. Stephen ministers are matched by the clergy to people with needs, so they can establish healing, supportive relationships. Health Ministries sponsors a twice a year rummage sale to not only support the church, but to provide inexpensive clothing and household items to the local community. This includes free items needed by the homeless via the Catholic Worker program. Health Ministries and Stephen Ministries help people with wholeness, wellness and prevention of disease through promotion of self-care and relational support.
